We drive from far to get our Luisa & Son goodies! The staff take good care of us, giving us even more reason to drive from far, even sometimes sitting patiently in traffic, to satisfy our Luisa & Son Bakeshop cravings. We appreciate how they carefully bag and box up all of our purchases. It's especially nostalgic for my mom who enjoyed their treats back in the days in Manila. Thanks to a customer who highly recommended their turon, as he was picking up a tray he had ordered for a party, we ended up buying turon for ourselves after we had already paid for our purchases. Our family and I devoured each of our big turon pieces in one sitting! Perfectly coated with sugar, perfectly fried, and perfectly ripened bananas! With the first bite of their ensaimada with salted egg, my family and I all had the same reaction of pausing to take a moment to enjoy the delectable bite of melt in your mouth, mix of sweet and salty, flavors. We experienced the same with their bibinka cupcake! When I bit into the brownie, I was in chocolate heaven with the moist brownie and huge chocolate chips. This is one of the best brownies I have ever enjoyed' Every item is organized and easy to locate. We have gone in the morning and in the late afternoon, and their store is clean, products are fresh, and nicely displayed. I highly recommend you stop by when you're in the Milpitas area, to check out their variety of Filipino foods and enjoy their delicious treats!

Small bakery shop with a lot of selection. Suggest people trying the chicken empanada- a family favorite. Customer service is good.

This place is highly recommended if you're looking for the Filipino dessert Turon. We've ordered them from here a couple times with the most recent being a largish order for my daughter's HS graduation party. They were a big hit! I would definitely order them from here again.

Filipino bakery items always have a distinct combination of sweet and salty flavors along with plenty of fat to carry it. From the cheese bar to the yema (custard) ball to the cheese with salted egg ensaimada, all of the random items I picked out were soft, buttery, and delicious! Usually I don't like breads that aren't really filled well (since it's just mostly plain bread at that point), but even though the filling for the ensaimada (cheese and salted egg yolk pieces in some salted egg yolk spread) stuck around the edges rather than in the center, the sugar and butter spread at the top kept the bread from being bland. I'll definitely be coming back to try the coconut and ube flavored items!

Suisa & Son a Filipino bakery shop has been around for nearly 10 years been a regular patron for over six years and customer service has always been top notch, pleasant and friendly greeting as I would come by so often for its freshly baked beef and chicken empanadas yet so cheap for $1.90 each can't beat that. Spanish bread or commonly known as Senorita bread is very popular along with ube pandesal and lumpia (eggrolls) the latter sell like hotcakes. Unlike Valerio's Bakery there's never a long line and prices are very reasonable and they have a huge parking lot hidden away from traffic right across from McDonald's. Definitely worth the trip my go to for its empanadas and lumpia.

First, I owe Luisa and Sons an apology for my much-delayed update review. Several years ago, my critique of them was quite harsh. However, they have since redeemed themselves impressively. They've made significant improvements to their hopia-filled desserts, notably reducing the filo breading and increasing the filling. Their machine calibration is now spot on, resulting in a perfect product. Additionally, their staff is friendly and genuinely believes in customer service. I recently ordered my go-to party dessert dish, Turon - also known as deep-fried banana rolls or banana lumpia. Luisa and Sons' Turon are the largest I've encountered, measuring a generous 8 inches. They are delightfully crunchy when served hot and priced at a reasonable $2.85 each. These rolls are so substantial that I usually cut them in half before serving. They are also easy to transport, making them a convenient choice for parties. One tip: the lumpia pieces tend to stick together, so I recommend separating them, cutting them, and layering parchment paper between each row or layer when serving to avoid sticking. They also include jackfruit inside the banana, adding a delightful twist to the flavor. Overall, I give their Turon a solid 5 out of 5 stars. The only downside is that Luisa and Sons do not accept Apple Pay.

This is yet another instance of an amazing hidden gem that is cruelly underrated on Yelp. I only tried one item here: the empanadas and they were absolutely delicious and incredibly reasonably priced. I went at 5:30 PM on a weekday and they still had plenty of empanadas and other items, but. no more turons unfortunately. There were a couple other patrons, but the line moves relatively fast as everything is ready made. Both the chicken and beef empanadas were delicious, but the flavor wasn't as different as you might think. I was surprised by how moist the meat managed to remain and the crust was more crumbly than flakey, but in the best way possible. The filling was slightly sweet and overall, keep pretty well for a day or two.
